SkyCoach replay handles Allegiant Stadium, national schedule for Nevada’s Liberty High football

Rich Muraco has been the head coach at Liberty High since 2009. He’s used numerous products over the years for in-game sideline replay. After a troublesome season with Hudl, the veteran coach and his No. 2 team in Nevada joined SkyCoach in recent years.

“With the three camera angle, it’s the best of all worlds,” Muraco said. “We get to see the techniques of the defensive and offensive lines. We get to see the whole coverage; the whole 22 with the wide view and then the traditional sideline view. I love it. It’s a fairly simple process. Being the No. 2 team in the state of Nevada, per MaxPreps, means you have a tough schedule. Year in and year out, the Patriots routinely travel during the season to other states and needed a flexible but reliable system to use.

“For me, honestly, it’s the reliability. I don’t want to bash another company but we had some problems with others connecting especially in the larger stadiums,” he said, adding, “We play a national schedule. Our championship game is in Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. We’ve played at the University of Hawaii stadium. We played at the old UNLV stadium. In those bigger stadiums, the connectivity was terrible with the previous company and those are the most important games. I needed to make sure I had a system that would be able to handle those bigger arenas and SkyCoach has done that.”

Liberty played for the state championship game at the end of the 2023 season against Bishop Gorman. It was the first time the Patriots played there.

How did SkyCoach perform in a stadium of that size? Muraco said: “We had to make sure our antennas were lined up correctly because in a big stadium like that lining them up wrong is a big deal. At first, we lined the antenna up to the wrong booth, we were aiming it at the wrong spot. Once we lined it up properly, it was fine. It was the same as any other game without any problems.”
